Frequently asked questions
Q. Will you get in the way when you shoot our wedding?
A. No we try to be very unobtrusive.

Q. Will it cost a lot to have Emotive Media shoot my wedding?
A. No. We try and keep our prices low, especially in the current economic environment.  We will send you a rate card or we are happy to quote over the phone or via email.

Q. How long will our video actually run?
A. This depends on the package you go with, how long your ceremony runs for etc. but typically between 20 minutes and an hour.

Q. What happens if something goes wrong with the video camera?
A. We keep our cameras in top condition with regular servicing by our JVC representative in Brisbane. We always test them prior to any shoot. In the event that something did go wrong, you are covered by the fact that we always have two identical cameras on site.

Q. We have seen a few videos by other operators where the picture is very shakey and the sound is poor. How do your video's shape up?
AWherever possible our cameras are mounted on broadcast quality "Miller" tripods so shake is kept to a minimum. The audio is captured properly with lapel mics hidden on the groom and the celebrant.
The grooms mic is omnidirectional and captures the vows beautifully. Any other sound such as applause is captured by mics mounted on the camera.

Q. How long will we have to wait for our project to be completed?
A. Once your "job is in the can", the turnaround time is usually no longer than two to three weeks. Conditions apply.  It depends on the finished length and other factors.  A half hour documentary for television may take 6 months or more from concept to end.  T
here is a lot of effort that goes into our product  both in shooting and editing.   Some may edit your footage in a couple of hours......it's the difference between "good enough" and "getting the best result possible".

Q. Does Emotive Media keep a Master?
A. Our policy at Emotive Media is to keep your master for a period of 6 months. We also keep a DVD copy on file. However, we imply no guarantees as to the availability of footage, master files or DVD copies once the project has been completed.
You may wish to purchase a data disc containing  master files from us at  reasonable cost. This is a good idea to further preserve your precious memories.

Q. There is a spelling mistake on my video.  Can I get it changed at no cost?
A. Of course!  (We triple check things so this would be unlikely!)  There are other factors which can sometimes necessitate a change or two, we accommodate this.

Q. It started to rain during our wedding and the footage looks a bit bleak can we get a refund?
A. No, but we would endeavor to enhance the footage if needed.

Q. What is the difference between Standard Definition and High Definition?
A. The short answer is a much better picture and improved sound capabilities.  The difference in picture quality is quite remarkable but you need to purchase a HD TV (and a Blu Ray player for movies). Emotive Media has both Standard and High Def available.

Q. Can I play a Standard Definition DVD on a Blu Ray player?
A. In most cases yes, but you cannot play a Blu Ray HD disk on a Standard Definition player.  If you play a Standard Definition DVD on a Blu Ray player connected to a HD screen,  the results may be a bit grainy due to the fact that Standard Definition is presented as 576 by 720 pixels and HD is a massive 1080 by 1920 pixels. So standard definition doesn't "fill" an HD screen properly.
